What are pickup and drop off notes?
Pick up and drop off notes are messages sent to the patient’s driver. They are associated with the location the patient is being picked up and/or dropped off at and can be used to relay relevant information or instructions.
Where are pickup and drop off notes recorded?
Driver notes can be specified in the Ride Request Form for a specific ride, as well as in the Patient’s Profile for all rides from their home address and/or preferred facility. The content that you enter in these fields will be sent via text message to the patient’s driver.
Pickup and drop off notes in the Patient Profile:
Pickup and drop off notes associated with the patient’s home address or preferred facility should be recorded in the Patient Profile if the notes will always be relevant to picking up or dropping off the patient at these locations.
Pickup and drop off notes associated with the patient’s home address can be recorded in the ADDRESS tab, notes associated with the patient’s preferred facility can be recorded in the FACILITIES tab. These notes will automatically populate in the Ride Request Form of every ride created for this patient. You can always edit these notes for the ride you are creating without needing to edit the Patient’s Profile.
For more information on adding pickup and dropoff notes for the patient’s home address and preferred facility, see {{pt creation article - address}} or {{pt creation article - facilities}}.
Pickup and drop off notes in the Ride Request Form:
If the pickup and drop off notes are only relevant to a specific ride, they should be recorded in the Ride Request Form. For each ride, you can enter notes specific to picking the patient up or dropping the patient off at each location.
If a message is only relevant for one leg of the trip, the notes should only be entered on that specific ride.
If a message is relevant to all trips, the notes should be copied and entered on each ride.
NOTE: The pickup and drop off notes will be passed on to the driver, you should NOT use the term “patient”, the patient’s initials, or the patient’s last name in communication with the driver. Instead, refer to the patient by first name only.
How do I edit a message for the driver?
In the Patient Profile, driver messages can be edited at any time. Note: this will not change the driver notes for any already created rides. For more information, see How to Edit Patient Profile.
In the Ride Request Form, messages to the driver cannot be edited unless the ride is recreated. See How to Edit Ride.
